Even though we aren’t together, I thought it would still be nice for us to celebrate all the Moms, Grandmas, and Aunts out there this Mother’s Day. Attached below are songs and stories you can enjoy with your child. Also attached is an “All About Mom/Grandma/ Aunt” printable book that you can have your child complete. We would’ve done this at school and don’t want you to miss out on these memorable moments and silly responses. Read your child the prompt and they can draw and write their responses. I encourage you to write their words on a separate piece of paper to model how to write the word/sentence and then have your child write on the correct line. Once completed, you can share on the STREAM with a picture of your child and Mom/Grandma/Aunt so we can all honor that special someone.
Please continue to work on sight words, book of the week, and post any changes that you have noticed so far with your planting activity to the STREAM.

Today we are starting a new unit---WATER
Essential Question
-What does water do?
Focus Questions
-Where can we find water?
-What happens to water when it changes temperature?
-What happens when we put things in water?
-How does water help us?
By the end of the unit, the children should understand that water is all around us, water changes depending on how warm or cold it is, some things float in water and some sink, some things change when you put them in water, and all living things need water.
At the beginning of every unit, the class creates a KWL Chart.
K- What do you want to KNOW?
W- What do you WANT to learn?
L- What did you LEARN?
Today we are going to complete the K and W. Click on CLASSWORK tab then under WATER UNIT Week 1 you will find the KWL assignment.
Book of the Week
“Water Dance” by Thomas Locker
Click CLASSWORK tab then under WATER UNIT Week 1- BOOK OF THE WEEK, you will find a link to the story as well as questions to ask your child.
