Instructions to access Google Classroom:
We have created a gmail account for each child to join the classroom. All second grade students usernames are:
first initial last name 27@stchristophersi.com..
For example.. jlavas27@stchristophersi.com
Passwords are all set to Christopher (capital C).. Parents will be prompted at first sign in to change the password. We are asking that you change it to Christopher(number). It can be any number you choose. Please write this down as we will not be able to see your new password.
Once you log into your Google account, you are to click the “9 square box” to access the apps for Google. Scroll to find the classroom app, and click on it. On the top of the page you will see a “+” sign. You should click “Join a class.” Use the code mysqkoi and click to join.
** If you are looking for extra adaptive practice in reading and math, I will be setting up practice for them in Scootpad. They can log in at any time and practice. It will give them an initial placement test to put them at their own appropriate level. They can sign in as often as they want to practice here.

** There will be a $2 dress down TOMORROW, April 23rd.
** We will be collecting $3 per student for Secretary's Day. Please send in ASAP as we are a little late this year.
** All folders can be emptied before the students return to school after break.
** Please check and replenish school supplies such as gluesticks, crayons, pencils, etc..
Older News:
** Scholastic Book Order for April will be due, Wednesday, April 14th. Orders can be placed online at scholastic.com/bookclubs using our class code GL7NX. Orders can also be sent in an envelope with a check written to "Scholastic Reading Club".
** All parents and students MUST wear their masks from the car to school in the morning and ALL the way to the car at dismissal. Please do not remove your mask before you reach your car.
We have two new school policies. This applies to all grades K - 8
** When a 5 day a week student is absent from the classroom, or on remote, they will no longer be allowed to take an assessment at home. They will make up any assessments when they return to school.
** If a 5 day a week student is out and will be remote the parent must send an email to the teacher or notify the office that the child will be remote for the day.
** If 3 days of in person school is missed, a student must have a doctor's note to return.
** Please empty the Reading folder for Monday and CHECK school supplies! Unfortunately we are not allowed to share supplies and students are running out of glue, crayons and pencils. Please restock pencil cases over the holiday weekend!
** Students do need a pair of earbuds or headphones. We use a few programs with sound throughout the day.
** This weeks tests are on the left side of the message folder. Please sign the TOP science test and look through the pile. Return only the top signed test so I know you have seen them. Religion test grades have been returned through Google Classroom.
**We are going to try to make the best of our own space. Whenever possible, please send your child with one of those command sticky hooks. A 5 lb. hook would probably work best. We will use these on the side of our desks to hang the coat and school bag as the weather gets colder. Coats are already falling all over the floor. Hopefully this helps!
** PLEASE try to sign into our Scootpad Class. Directions are directly below. We will be using this site in class, and for homework. This site can also be used at any time for enrichment work.
